°C → K
Daniel Fahrenheit created his scale in 1724 using brine's freezing point (0°F) and human body temperature (originally 100°F, now known to be 98.6°F).
Anders Celsius originally defined his scale backwards - 100° for water's freezing point and 0° for boiling! It was reversed after his death.
Hero of Alexandria built the first thermoscope around 50 CE, which expanded air to move water - no numbered scale though!
Scientists have achieved temperatures just billionths of a degree above absolute zero in laboratories, colder than anywhere in space.
Why did Celsius break up with Fahrenheit? There were just too many degrees between them! 🌡️
